‘THE LAST SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE’ is Sunbittern Media’s current project. Successfully crowdfunded over the winter of 2018, Sunbittern Media are incredibly excited to start work on this new project.

‘THE LAST SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE’ will run for one hour and tell the tale of one of Europe’s most well known birds, the nightingale; its natural history, its role in literature, art and music, as well as its cultural importance and its future. The nightingale has declined in the UK by 90% in the last three decades and is on the brink of extinction within the UK. Elsewhere, such as Berlin it is thriving.

‘THE LAST SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE’ will weave a mix of stories together, from why it sings such a fantastic song, to why an acclaimed street artist is painting it on the tail fin of a World War Two bomber in London’s Berkeley Square.

Throughout ‘THE LAST SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE’ the viewer will experience a mix of documentary style filmmaking, bluechip natural history as well as animation by award winning animator, Will Rose.
